Located in the parish of St. Lucy, the island’s most northern point, are two caverns in the rugged sea cliffs open to the Atlantic Ocean. In the cave are sea anemones; some with delicate tentacles are filter-feeding tube worms in one cavern.

Once a magnificent plantation great house, known for its elegant Georgian/Regency style and beautiful gardens. The house was filled with rare and curious items and attracted famous visitors. After changing ownership and being featured in a film, the house was destroyed by fire in 1966, leaving only the walls.

Known as “The most enchanting place on Earth”; Hunte’s Gardens is a botanical garden and significant tourist attraction in the St Joseph Area of central Barbados. It was created from the 1950s by horticulturist Anthony Hunte in an unusual sinkhole-like gully.

st. nichOlas abbey
St. Nicholas Abbey is one of the island’s oldest surviving plantations; one of just three remaining Jacobean mansions in the Western Hemisphere. The plantation features a chapel, a terrace café, a boiling house with a steam mill, a syrup plant, a distillery, and various gardens and gullies. The property has changed ownership several times and is currently owned by the Warren family, who have restored and preserved it as a heritage attraction and self-supporting plantation.

Sunbury Plantation House
Sunbury Plantation House is a cultural and historical heritage site in St. Philip, Barbados. The house, over 300 years old, offers a glimpse into life on sugar cane plantations in the 18th and 19th centuries. It features a fine collection of antiques, Barbadian memorabilia, and a unique collection of antique carriages. Sunbury House was destroyed by a fire in 1995 but was faithfully restored and reopened in 1996. It remains open to the public and is a popular venue for weddings and special events.
